Georgetown Gem, Petite Historic Home

Nice small house, located in the beautiful area of Georgetown. Very good communication with the owner.

This house was amazing for two summer interns! We stayed for a month and the place was beautiful, well-organized, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Some particular highlights: the private patio is SO lovely, the bathroom has a skylight which is amazing for mornings, comfiest couch (we loved the throw blankets), and very fast wifi - much appreciated for remote working! The neighborhood is super safe and quiet, plus the place is conveniently located next to a bus stop which made commuting easy. The place is also only a short walk to Wisconsin Ave shops and restaurants which we loved, and just down the street from the house is a grocery store which was huge for us! Charlotte & the team were so helpful and communicative throughout our stay. Charlotte even put together a fantastic working/studying area for us - she thought of everything! Can’t emphasize enough how incredible of a host she is. Would highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting DC :)

I was very happy with this rental. It was as described and even better - fantastic location, central and quiet. The property was very clean and when I had a question the host reacted very quickly. It was too cold to sit outside but in warmer weather the mini-garden would be fantastic. I highly recommend this rental

We had another rental fiasco and booked last minute to this gem! The communication was amazing (including having a last minute cleaner come in to allow us to check in the next day), and the location was perfect (we could walk to the water, the mall, etc). We would definitely stay here again.

The property description was accurate regarding location, amenities and layout. Property was clean and well maintained, although beds should be bit more comfortable. The manager provided great customer service! I would recommend the property to anyone!

My husband and our two children stayed two nights in this property in Georgetown. The location was ideal. The property was well-stocked with everything we needed and was spotless. Everything worked, but we had to work a bit to figure out how to set the thermostats so that we didn’t get too hot at night. (Answer: we turned both upstairs and downstairs systems off.). It is a very small apartment with very small rooms - as a family of four, it was tight but do-able. Overall, thought, a wonderful property and a fantastic stay.

What a lovely house in the heart of Georgetown. It is small but that is its charm. It also has alovely little garden to sit in. Everything works well and plenty of storage space. No drawbacks. We ised for a month while looking for a permanent home in DC and it served the purpose well. Highly recommended for a longer stay.

The property was beautifully maintained but two small for two tall people. The bedroom with queen size bed could only accomodate one person as the bed was against the wall. The bathroom was clean, but extremely small. My husband is 6'3" inches and struggled. The skylight in the ceiling did not close
making the room quite uncomfortable. There were two napkins and one kitchen dish towel. A few paper towels did not suffice. The heating system is as loud as a jet plane.. very warm (And Loud) when on and quite cold as soon as it turns off. There is a lovely small enclosed pation which is probably lovely in the warmer months.
The most difficult issue was that the initial arrival package did not arrive. We had no key code, no internet information, no parking information, no restaurants or transportation information. After many phone calls we received the information halfway through our 4 day stay. I have been reluctant to write this review. I would not recommend this rental service.

Georgetown Gem was a great place to stay for our (two couples) week in DC. They are serious when they say it’s small, but it was comfortable and nicely furnished with everything we needed. The neighborhood was clean and quiet, and walkable to many restaurants, shops and public transportation. We recommend Georgetown Gem.

This was the perfect home base for my week-long solo business trip. I will definitely stay again.

This cute place is in a great location, about 10 minutes walking to Wisconsin St. and another 5-10 minutes to the waterfront. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well-equipped. Bathroom is tiny, so you will need to take turns!

We enjoyed our stay at the Georgetown Gem. It is tiny! Especially the bathroom! But worked just fine for our family of 4. We walked to the Dupont Circle metro every day, and down to the waterfront for dinner one night - Uber also works well when your legs are done for the day.

Everything was smooth from the start of the booking to checking out. We arrived early and were able to store our luggage in the house until the maid had finished cleaning. The house is a short walk from the Main Street in Georgetown which has a variety of shops and good restaurants. Just round the corner is a 7-11, liquor store and delicatessen and the metro bus stop is at the top of the road. The house is small and any more than 3 would be a bit of a squeeze but it is spotless with very comfy beds and fluffy towels. It was ideal for the 2 of us and in a very safe area. We were flying back to the UK on an evening flight and found we could store our bags in a locked area of the Book store new to to 4 Seasons hotel through so we’re nale to enjoy a full last day. We were visiting the East coast with a final stay in DC. The accommodations were great for us (two adults and one teenager) and it was nice and clean. Also, the central air conditioning worked like a charm for those sticky August days. There are ample stores in walking distance and a 7 Eleven just at the corner for any simple items needed.

We had so much fun. The house was amazing.

Great place in a perfect location! Walk to shopping , dining , bus, and some museums. Very clean and owners gave patient, helpful feedback for all my many questions! Beds comfortable .safe neighborhood. We had a rental car , and street parking nearby wasn't too hard to find each night. We obtained a parking pass from the police dept. The Place is pretty small with room for 3 people, 4 max. We didn't cook, but kitchen very nice. Note on stairs: steps to upstairs a bit steep and the last 5 steps are almost vertical, so not for people with mobility issues. AC worked great ! Would stay again. Thanks for a great place to stay for our DC history trip! Would stay again and recommend to friends.

I recently stayed at this charming property in Georgetown. It's in a fantastic location, just a couple of blocks up from the main shopping drag and in a very walkable neighborhood. D.C. was just a short distance. You'll have no shortage of things to do and places to grab a bite. The property itself is wonderful. It is on the smaller size and so perfect for a couple, or three people. Four might be a little bit of a stretch but definitely doable. We found it spotlessly clean and very well provisioned. I would happily return next time I'm in the area. Parking was easier than I thought based on previous reviews but still something to be dealt with. I used the suggested app and found reasonably priced parking during the day. Thanks again for everything.

We knew this was a small townhouse going in, so as long as youre prepared for how compact it is, youll be fine! It is in a terrific location on the east side of Georgetown and is well equipped for a couple or small family. Rental process was smooth, no problems at all. I would return to Georgetown Gem and/or use LuxBnB again.

We miss our beautiful DOLLHOUSE! We had a lovely stay here and thoroughly enjoyed the location and the property. I stayed with 2 of our youngest daughters who were on spring break and it was absolutely perfect! Street parking for non residents is only 2 hours or overnight. You can either park in a garage for your stay ($25 for 24 hours) and taking Uber to sites OR you can get a resident parking pass from the local police station with your lease agreement.

Then, the copper flashing on the front door snagged my nylon jacket, and ripped open a perfect three quarter inch flap on the sleeve. Aside from those two incidents, the place is a gem. We had never been to Georgetown before so we didn't really know where to stay. We luckily ended up in the most perfect spot. Great access to all that the wonderful neighborhood has to offer. Easy access to all of DC and the DC area in general. Tight quarters for sure. Great as place to comfortably sleep. Very well appointed. We got lucky with parking but I can see that as potential problem. "Cosy" to the point where it was hard for the four of us to settle in together during downtime, or to get ready to go out. If you need a beautiful place to stay with a great location it is perfect. If you need space for a family to enjoy inside time together it's a little tight.

We had a delightful stay at the Georgetown VRBO, which happened to be a perfect location for us. It was close to our daughter's apartment and allowed us to walk easily between the two. The rental was very nicely done, small but efficient, and would highly recommend it for a couple or small family.

We had a great stay in the Georgetown Gem. It is a small townhouse but well organized and furnished. Even though the space was small the closet space was more than adequate. Working with the property management company was straightforward.

We enjoyed our afternoons sipping wine and eating cheese on the patio and had lots of room to maneuver in the central space on the main floor. Three fit nicely in this space, and although there are beds for four, we think it would be VERY cozy with that number.

The Gem of Georgetown rental was just as described. We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and quiet. It was a in nice location, close to a bus stop and decent walk to the metro station. We'd recommend this rental to our friends and we'd stay there again.

The house is located on a quiet leafy street but just a short walk to bustling M street - close enough to be right near the action but also away from it all at the end of a full day. Also, a short walk to the metro. Just perfect!
