Convention Center - Blagden Alley

On walking into the place, it smelled like a port-a-potty. We had to air out the entire place for three days before it smelled any better, and then were asked to keep our outside door closed. In addition, the bed sheets had clearly not been cleaned with very obvious (and disgusting) "wet spots" as well as copious amounts of hair all over the bed that made me not want to sleep at the property for the first two days (in addition to the smell). After I washed all of the bedsheets on all of the beds a few times, left the doors open for three days to air out the smell, and between playing catch-and-release with very large cockroaches– the place was acceptable.

The apartment is beautiful, very clean, quiet, with all facilities on site and in a great location to visit DC, with the main sightseeing places and best restaurants at walking distance. Easy check-in/out procedure and fast and good customer service provided by the manager.

I loved this place, tasteful decoration, very confortable & in a perfect DC location to visit all of Downtown main attractions & museums! Highly recommended! Thank you to the wonderful Host as well !

Location was amazing with great food selections and proximity to the metro.

If I could give this unit a 6 out of 5 I would. It is within walking distance of most all attractions. The apartment is perfectly appointed & charming to boot. Comfy beds & a great shower with abundant linens. What’s not to like. Oh, did I mention historical significance?

The process of renting this apartment was smooth and easy. The unit was clean and had all necessary amenities. The queen bed probably should be replaced - the mattress is much too soft and the bed frame a bit rickety. Also the dressers in the bedroom were cheaply constructed. Still, we would stay there again. The location is really outstanding. The neighborhood, Shaw, is interesting and has great restaurants, including French, Ethiopian, Sushi, and Italian. Blagden Alley is just around the corner and is a very cool area, with a number of businesses (including a coffee shop) and a lot of amazing building art. It's not far from the National Mall and is very close to the Convention Center.

Beautiful home

My daughter and I enjoyed our mini vacation and would highly recommend this rental. It was close to the National Mall, great dining and the metro. The sleeping situation I thought would be weird with all beds in the same room, but it worked and its a large area! Only snafu we had was trouble getting into the rental initially (hard to see keypad), but the response via the AP was fast and resolved the situation quickly. This rental does NOT have parking and they say that, so we prepaid for parking at a nearby garage and it was easy! Don't expect on street parking, it was packed!

We had a wonderful experience. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It was well located for a walking tour of Washington DC. Everyone at Luxbnb we spoke with were accommodating, helpful, and friendly. They worked with us during and following the COVID epidemic.

What a gem! Charlotte the owner was super lovely to work with. She was very responsive, gave lots of information prior to arrival with tips and helpful details and fixed a light that was not working quickly. The rental was clean and well equipped and fit our needs. We had two children with us so the bunk bed worked but was not terribly sturdy as we have older teens. One of them decided to sleep on the couch. It was just a two seater but he made due. Might be great to have a sofa bed in the living room. Other than that plenty of seating in the living room and room for six at the dining table. It was hard to find a reasonably priced two bedroom for four so we settled for a one bedroom with enough beds.
We went and purchased a Roku so the kids could watch shows/movies after days of walking. The owner thought it was such a great idea she paid us back for it and we left it there! It is right next to the convention center, with a cute little convenience market on the corner, great Ethiopian restaurant and Mediterranean restaurant within walking distance as well as other restaurants too. The metro was a very short walk away. We did have to pay for Parking but there was a lot directly behind us which was about $160 for the week. There was free street parking but that was always full. We would definitely stay here again just with only 3 or 4 if we had smaller kids. We had a great time!

The place was amazing and in a prime area. We had everything we needed within a short walk (Usually under 10 min. Furnishings were nice and place was spotless. Very professional as well with any questions or requests.

It was good. Unfortunately the neighbors were in our parking spot for 2 nights and we had to pay additionally to park in the lot behind the Air BNB. This was our 3rd year staying here though and it’s a great spot for our even at the WE Washington convention center.

The place was super clean with updated appliances and bathroom.

We had a great time being so close to the center of city, we pretty much walked everywhere -- Smithsonian Museums, National Mall, even to Lincoln Memorial!

Mt. Vernon metro station is 2 minutes walk away and Lyft/Uber always within 2 - 5 minute range.

Restaurants and coffee shops in the alley were super hip.

My husband really liked the history of the house and enjoyed the book about the senator who used to live there.

We cooked breakfast, walked to restaurants for lunch/early dinner, and UberEats/Doordash for dinner if we were too tired to cook or going out.

Whenever we had an inquiry, we texted the manager and got response quickly.

I was in town with my wife and daughter for a weekend vacation followed by a three day conference at the Convention Center. This place was perfectly located and very comfortable. Just a short walk from the Metro for a direct Yellow Line trip to the airport. Convenient, clean, close to great restaurants and the Portrait Gallery and LUXbnb was very responsive.

Beautiful interior; very clean and comfortable; couldn't be more convenient to all of DC's sites and events; blocks from metro so moving around is easy. Don't pass this one up!

The property was warm and inviting, however the management was crude. The temp stayed at 75 degrees, in sweltering heat. Upon reaching out to the customer service to ask for help to change the temp (because the thermoter was holding), I was given a very crude response of "turn the temperature down, if you are warm!" with an exclamation mark. Great location, but very POOR customer service!!

This apt. Remodel is excellent, clean and updated. Main issue is mattress: desperate need for replacement. Also; not sure who lives upstairs, but they could have some common courtesy to go w/o hard shoes in the evenings. Overall, you can’t beat being 1 block to metro and condition of apt. furnishings.

Here for a convention, wife visiting friends and enjoying city. This was a great home base. Be sure to explore the coffee shop, restaurant, and speakeasy in the alley out the back door.

We enjoyed this place quite a bit. We had a shower curtain rod break and there was a guy over the next day to fix it. That was the only real problem.

There were four of us staying there for ten days and two more for a few days. It was too much for six, but it worked well for a family of four.

There are grocery stores, pharmacies, coffee shop, food, and the Metro stop all within a few blocks. Between Uber and the Metro we never needed a car. We even took the Metro from the airport to the place.

We had guests decide they were coming in and not enough blankets. The owner had sheets and blankets shipped to the unit from Amazon. That was awesome and appreciated.

The only downside was a tiny bit of noise above, but that was only at bed time and then just until the folks upstairs got settled into bed. It wouldn't deter me though. I would gladly live in this unit and recommend it to friends or family.

Clean, well equipped apartment. Very nice urban neighborhood, easy access to everywhere including walk to Chinatown and great dining. Favorites were Chaplin's and Zaytinya. Short walk to the Metro. Furnishings were comfortable. Only drawback was high-heels clopping across the upstairs neighbor's floor at all hours.

This was our first family trip to DC. We are a family of 5 and fit very comfortably in this apartment. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean everything was and it was well supplied with dishes/utensils. The location is amazingly close to the Metro and just a few blocks from the grocery store. The only thing I didn't like was the gas smell between the gate and front door area, I would say that was the only thing that could use some improvement. Overall this is definitely a great place and hope to return in the future. Thank you for sharing this beauty!

The apartment was the perfect size for our family. Our three kids under 8 all fit nicely in the bunk bed, and in our room with us so no troubles at night time. Lots of conveniences, too many to list. Highly recommend this property. Also, convenient since right across from Metro stop at the convention center.

Great location. Easy walking distance to everything you want to see in Washington DC and easy access to Metro to get where you cannot walk. We have nothing but good things to say about our stay at Convention Center Cool. It is very clean and has all the amenities you need for a short term stay. We had no real issues save for the TV didn't work (and the Masters was on) but once we spoke with management they dealt with the problem immediately (just a faulty cable). Dining in Washington DC was truly memorable - some of the places we went (within walking distance) were Pearl Dive, Le Diplomate, Jaleo, Zaytinya, China Chilcano - all really good. If you want to go shopping at Potomac Mills Outlet Mall we would recommend taking the $60 cab ride versus the almost 2 hour Metro and Bus trip to get there. Washington DC is an amazing experience - try to visit during the Cherry Blossom Festival.
